About the Event

Wilson Muleya will join us to discuss the importance of caring today. Being a carer can be challenging on its own, and more challenging still while pursuing an education or working. In our shared book, Joanie's experience of becoming a young mother during her university years, and the struggle for balance in her work life while caring for her daughter, are worth examining in more detail. We will also discuss how Kingston University already makes our environment more welcoming to young adult carers through our award-winning KU Cares. Finally we will consider how we can better understand the situation of carers and support their goals.

This week will be hosted by Wilson Muleya, Head of the Department of Social Work and Beth Taswell, Access and Support Advisor KU Cares
