KU Big Read Book Club Week 6: Nnenna's Nigeria

The Private Joys of Nnenna Maloney centres around Nnenna's quest to learn more about herself and her Nigerian background. There are many moments worth analysing such as how other people value (or under-value) Nnenna's culture, including her own mother keeping it from her. Both qualified pilot and president of the LMD Foundation, Jamil Abubakar joins us today to talk about Nigerian culture and heritage. We will talk about how students can maintain their cultural ties while being in a new environment such as a university. We will discuss respecting, honouring and celebrating Nigerian heritage as well as that of other cultures.
