About the Event
How do you begin to find yourself when you only know half of who you are?
Join Mancunian writer and teacher, Okechukwu Nzelu, as he discusses his debut novel and presents the conflicts and confusions, undoings and reimagings we all feel while trying to figure out where it is we feel we truly belong. In his debut novel, Okechukwu's central character, Nnenna Maloney, approaches adulthood and longs to connect with her Igbo-Nigerian culture.
Hailed by Booker Prize-winning Bernardine Evaristo as ‘smart, serious and entertaining’, The Private Joys of Nnenna Maloney is a funny and tender tribute to community, faith and forgiveness; to growing up and growing into ourselves.
